It's a Journey
Mississippi’s past is rooted in our natural resources; decisions made by landowners today will have lasting impacts on their future. Working with a variety of interest groups and stakeholders across the gulf south, the Partnership for Gulf Coast Land Conservation is committed to preserving these resources now and in the future. To raise awareness of their mission, the partnership reached out to the TV Center to develop three short films focused on land conservation along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. These short films underscore the interconnectedness of upstream land management decisions and downstream effects using the perspective of a landowner, governmental planning professional, and charter fisherman whose livelihood depends on gulf water quality. To provide perspective, each film incorporates land use and conservation experts. The first of these three short films, “It’s a Journey” won the 2020 Southeast Regional Emmy for Environment / Science – Short Form.
