Farmweek | August 19, 2021 | Full Show
For more than four decades, Farmweek has been Mississippi’s leading agricultural affairs program, available statewide on Mississippi Public Broadcasting and nationally on RFD-TV. In 1977, the first episode aired from Jackson, where the show was initially produced. In 1991, MSU Extension moved the show’s production to the newly formed University Television Center and is one of the TV Center’s longest-running clients. Together, Extension and the center have recorded more than 1500 episodes of the half-hour weekly program, both in the TV Center’s Studio A and on-location. The hosts, format, record dates, and facilities have all changed in the last three decades, but the TV Center’s commitment to show quality has not. Working with Extension, the center has developed new workflow procedures, made capital investments into the studio set and control room, and provided feature package production to keep the show relevant nearly half a century after its premiere.
