Emerging from COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, title sponsor C Spire wanted to make this year’s Conerly trophy presentation the most memorable in history. Awarded to the best college football player in Mississippi, the trophy’s traditional ceremony included a dinner, speeches, and a set that features a vinyl backdrop and head table. Based on the success of the 2021 Outstanding Player Awards broadcast, C Spire partnered with the TV Center to redevelop the Conerly program into a more dynamic, faster-paced show. The TV Center served as the show producer, writer, and production manager, working with Jackson, MS-based staging contractors to erect a 32’ x 10’ LED video wall. Using graphics and motion elements developed by in-house staff, the center handled in-room element playout and multi-camera livestreams, creating an event that has set a new standard for the Conerly honor.
